We are holding the following fundraising events -

We urgently require volunteers to help us raise money for the homeless animals in our care. If you would like to be considered for future events, please call us on 01603 766001 (lines open 11-4pm every day except Sun and Mon) or email jbond@rspcanorwich.org for an application form.

We also have the following volunteer opportunities:

Trustees: Although no specific qualifications are required, we are ideally seeking someone with a professional background or knowledge. Trustees are jointly involved in ensuring the proper management of the branch, attending monthly Committee meetings and ensuring the Branch meets minimum animal welfare standards.

Fundraisers: Help the RSPCA Norwich & Mid-Norfolk by joining their Fundraising Group.  We are hoping to form a fundraising group who will raise money for their local RSPCA by organizing events, collections and thinking up fundraising ideas.  As a member of our Fundraising Group you would be involved in a rewarding, and hopefully fun, voluntary activity alongside likeminded people.

We would like some of the members to have experience of event management or other fundraising activities, but the main thing we need is commitment, enthusiasm and reliability. The group will meet once a month and work together with the Branch Manager and Committee to fund animal welfare in our area.

Experienced Fosterers: We need experienced people to provide temporary foster homes for our cats and dogs that are; unable to cope with being in a kennel/cattery, recovering from illness, pregnant/nursing mothers or hand reared puppies/kittens.

We would need you to be very experienced and have knowledge of dog/cat behaviour as some of our animals come to us with problems and may not have had the best start in life.  This position is not suitable if you have young children under the age of four.

You would need to be home for most of the day (except for adult cats), have a fully secure garden (for dogs) and your own transport, as you may be required to take the animal to the vets, kennels or our Branch.

Full support will be given by the Branch and food, bedding etc will be provided.

“Small Furry” Fosterer:

We urgently need fosterers who can temporarily provide a home for rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets or other species of small furry animals.  We will provide food, veterinary care, and any other expenses incurred until the animal has found its permanent home.  We would prefer someone who is at home for at least part of the day in case medication has to be administered and who has the experience to deal with a particular species’ health issues and behaviour. If you are interested in helping us please contact Julie on 01603 729820 or email on jbond@rspcanorwich.org.  We would have to visit your home to check that the care you can offer conforms with RSPCA standards and can provide the appropriate cages etc if necessary.

Volunteers for Watton Shop:

We need volunteers who can commit to a regular morning or afternoon shift in our new Watton shop. The RSPCA Norwich & Mid-Norfolk Branch is entirely self funding and receives no money from the government.  Our shops provide an essential source of income which enables us to re-home and care for animals in our area.  Duties will include sorting, steaming and preparing goods for sale, operating the till and serving customers.  Volunteers will also assist in providing information about the adoption procedure to potential owners of our animals.

For further information please contact Julie on jbond@rspcanorwich.org

Thank you
