Volunteer for us

Thank you for showing an interest in volunteering with the RSPCA Mid Norfolk & North Suffolk Branch. We are so grateful for you thinking of us at this time as we wouldn’t be where we are without your help and support. 🐱🐰🐹🐶
We are now recruiting for SHOP VOLUNTEERS
Unfortunately, due to current restrictions relating to the Covid-19 outbreak and following government advice, we are running a limited service and are NOT accepting applications for other volunteer roles at this time.
There are however, more ways in which you can help us and our animals.

We have lots of volunteering opportunities and full training is provided for whichever role you choose. Unfortunately we do not have an animal centre so are unable to offer any volunteering or work placements working with animals on site but we do have number of roles available. If you would like to apply to volunteer for us, click the links below or if you would like a paper application send us an email.

Trustees play a pivotal role in ensuring that the charity is run efficiently. We are looking for professional people with a strategic background in governance and/or senior-level management that have the ability and experience to actively contribute to the leadership of a progressive charity.

Fostering is such an important role within the Branch, many of the animals coming into our care have suffered from neglect and do not settle well in the cattery or kennel environment. We need special people willing to provide a temporary loving home environment, where the animal can be rehabilitated before being rehomed. The majority of the animals we work with are cats, dogs and rabbits but occasionally there is the need to find fosterers for other types of animals too. Fostering must fit in with your lifestyle and plans, so detailed information on the level of care, duration and background to each animal will be discussed in detail with a member of the Animal Care Team and any equipment or food will be supplied. Please note, you must hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle to be considered for fostering.

Shop Assistants

Our shops bring in the much needed income that keeps us rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing animals that come into our care. The role of a charity shop assistant includes helping shop management organise, display and sell stock. We couldn’t carry out our vital work without our fantastic shop staff and volunteers and this is a great opportunity to join our friendly team, gain skills and to meet new people.

Home Visitors

Our volunteer Home Visitors visit the homes of potential adopters to check they are the right match for our animals and to provide answers to any queries the adopters may have. We will give you full training to become a home visitor so you can help us ensure our animals are going to their safe, new, forever homes! The majority of homes are absolutely perfect, but sometimes a little advice or guidance can be necessary, especially if it is a first pet.

Events Volunteer

Being an events volunteer is a fantastic way to help support the work of the Branch.

We have many opportunities to suit various skills and availability. Whether you can help for a few hours at an event or would like to get involved more regularly, we’d love for you to get in touch. Whether your skills lie in event management and organisation, or you’re more creative and hands-on, you can play a vital role in helping us raise money to help animals in need. We organise and attend many different events, from carnivals and fetes to coffee mornings and gala nights and are always looking for new ideas.
