Our story

The RSPCA Mid Norfolk & North Suffolk Branch is an independent Branch of the RSPCA. Our mission is to raise awareness, provide practical support and demonstrate compassion in order to deliver excellent animal welfare in our Branch area.

Every RSPCA Branch is a separately registered charity and operates within the framework of the national society’s policies and guidelines. This means we are one of over 150 Branches in England and Wales and the local branch for Mid Norfolk & North Suffolk. You can find your local Branch here.

Our Branch is run by a committee of locally elected volunteer Trustees who are responsible for the governance and overall strategy of the Branch, and a team of dedicated and passionate staff who work within our administration office, charity shops and throughout our Branch area. We provide a variety of services across Norfolk and Suffolk that all contribute to our overall commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable animals.

We rehome a variety of animals including cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries and exotics such as reptiles and birds. We do not have an animal centre so all of our animals are housed either at private boarding establishments or with fosterers. If you would like to rehome from us, have a look at our Adoption page to more about the adoption process and to meet some of our animals!

We also support pet owners across our Branch area through our financial assistance programmes. If you live within our Branch area, you are entitled to apply for subsidised neutering for your cat, dog or rabbit. We also offer financial aid for veterinary bills on a case by case basis.

We would love to help everyone that contacts our Branch, but because of limited charitable resources, unfortunately we are not able to help on every occasion and will sometimes not have space to rehome an animal or be able to cover the cost of a veterinary bill. We will, however, try to help where we can and signpost if appropriate.

It costs our Branch on average £300+ per cat to rehabilitate and re-home. For dogs it costs the Branch approximately £500+ per dog and as a separately registered Branch of the RSPCA we are responsible for raising funds locally which we do throughout charity shops, fundraising, donations and legacies. You can find more information on how you can help us here.
