Trustees play a pivotal role in ensuring that the charity is run efficiently. We are looking for professional people with a strategic background in governance and/or senior-level management that have the ability and experience to actively contribute to the leadership of a progressive charity.

Fostering is such an important role within the branch, many of the animals coming into our care have suffered from neglect and do not settle well in the cattery or kennel environment. We need special people willing to provide a temporary loving home environment, where the animal can be rehabilitated before being rehomed.  The majority of the animals we work with are cats but occasionally there is the need to find fosterers for smaller animals or dogs. Fostering must fit in with your lifestyle and plans, so detailed information on the level of care, duration (if known!) and background to each animal will be discussed in detail with a member of the Animal Care Team and any equipment or food will be supplied. Please note, you must hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle to be considered for fostering.

Charity Shop Assistants

Our Charity shops bring in the much needed income that keeps us rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing animals that come into our care. The role of a charity shop assistant includes helping shop management organise, display and sell stock. We couldn't carry out our vital work without our fantastic shop staff and volunteers and this is a great opportunity to join our friendly team, gain skills and to meet new people.

Home Visitors

Our volunteer Home Visitors visit the homes of potential adopters to check they are appropriate. We will give you full training to become a home visitor so you can help us ensure our animals are going to their safe, new, forever homes! The majority of homes are absolutely perfect, but sometimes a little advice or guidance can be necessary, especially if it is a first pet.

Do you have some spare time and a valid driving license? We need volunteers to help collect donations from our supporters and move stock between our charity shops. You will need to have your own vehicle and this role would be on an ad hoc basis.

Events Volunteer

Being an events volunteer is a fantastic way to help support the work of the Branch.

We have many opportunities to suit various skills and availability. Whether you can help for a few hours at an event or would like to get involved more regularly, we’d love for you to get in touch. Whether your skills lie in event management and organisation, or you’re more creative and hands-on, you can play a vital role in helping us raise money to help animals in need. We organise and attend many different events, from Carnivals and Fetes to coffee mornings and gala nights and are always looking for new ideas.
